A new update to GuideConnect 1.24 is being rolled out from today.

This update includes an all-new PDF reader, voice input across all GuideConnect languages, RSS news and much more. 

GuideConnect 1.24 is now available for customers in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Norway with additional language releases to follow. The update is being rolled out exclusively to customers who have an active Premium Plan. New in GuideConnect 1.24

PDF Reader

GuideConnect 1.24 includes an all-new reader to open and read PDF documents. With the new PDF reader, people using GuideConnect can open text and image-based PDF documents and listen to them read aloud using the speech. The PDF Reader also includes options to:

  • View the PDF in its original layout, with GuideConnect colours, or in a text-only format.
  • Use the ‘Form editor’ to complete PDFs that contain editable fields.

Voice Input available in all GuideConnect languages

Voice input is now available for customers in all language versions of GuideConnect. This enables people using GuideConnect to dictate emails and documents, and to perform a Google search online using just their voice. 

Please note: From the release of GuideConnect 1.24, an active Premium Plan is required to use voice input.

Email Groups

A new option is now available in the Email menu to create ‘Email Groups’. This option enables people using GuideConnect to create new email groups and easily send emails to all of the contacts in the group at once.

RSS News

Available in the Entertainment menu, the RSS News feature enables people using GuideConnect to read the latest news headlines from a variety of popular news services from their region. After selecting a news service, GuideConnect opens a list of all of the latest news articles available. Users can select an article to read it using the web browser.

How to update to GuideConnect 1.24

GuideConnect 1.24 is exclusively available for all customers with an active Premium Plan.

Updating to the latest version has never been easier. If you are a customer with an active Premium Plan, the 1.24 update will be automatically downloaded while you are using GuideConnect, and then installed the next time you open the program. 

Please note - The update to GuideConnect 1.24 will be rolled out to customers in stages over the next few weeks. If you don’t receive the update straight away, please be assured that it’s on its way. 

Keep your Premium Plan up to date 

You can check whether your Premium Plan is up to date using the menu options in GuideConnect. To do this: 

  1. Open GuideConnect.
  2. Select ‘Tools’.
  3. Select ‘About’.
  4. Select ‘Check my Premium Plan’. 

GuideConnect will tell you whether your Premium Plan is active or is due to be renewed.

Keeping your Premium Plan active means you will benefit from:

  • Exclusive use of premium features, including accessible video calling, voice input and multiple email accounts.
  • Regular updates with new features and improvements.
  • Priority status with the Dolphin Support Team.

To renew your Premium Plan:

  • If you live in the UK, contact the Dolphin team on 01905 754577 and select option 1.
  • If you live outside the UK, please contact the company you purchased GuideConnect from.
