We are pleased to announce that version 12.02 of EasyReader App is now available across all platforms:

  • iOS
  • iPadOS
  • Android
  • Amazon Fire
  • Windows
  • macOS (only with EasyReader Personal and EasyReader Education plans)

You can also use EasyReader on Chromebooks which have Android app support enabled.

EasyReader App is designed to remove barriers to reading, so reading is more accessible for people with dyslexia, vision impairments or other additional reading requirements.

The latest update to version 12.02 expands on the accessibility improvements introduced version 12, to offer more ways to customise your reading experience and aid study and revision.

New in-app colour themes are introduced to improve comfort when using EasyReader App.

New premium features are available to aid revision, study and improve productivity.

Improved connections to a range of libraries improve user experience when browsing and downloading books and newspapers.

Choice of App Colours

New: Coloured Text Highlights

Exclusively available to EasyReader Education and EasyReader Personal plan holders, readers can now apply text highlights in different colours to the paragraphs in books. This helps you quickly sort and find the content you want to refer to or read again.

  • For dyslexic students in particular, this new feature improves study techniques. Different colour highlights can be used as a tool to indicate topics in a book.

  • To make highlighted text even easier to find, you can also sort them by colour in EasyReader app, and review them independently. For example, students can sort and review their highlights marked green in a text for geography class. Or, they may assign a colour for a particular teacher or lecturer to help quickly access the highlighted text referred to in class.

This new feature is particularly useful during exam revision and can help students organise class notes to refer to in homework assignments.

New: In-app Colour Themes

To make EasyReader app more user-friendly, version 12.02 introduces a new setting that enables you to select the colour theme for the EasyReader app icons and toolbar.

We appreciate that everyone’s sight is different, so to ensure you have an EasyReader experience that’s comfortable for you, this new setting gives you more choice and control of how EasyReader app displays the toolbar and icons on your device.

If you already use a Dark Mode setting on your system, EasyReader app will automatically switch to Dark Mode.

You can choose from light, dark or blue colour themes in the app settings.

The colour theme you choose primarily impacts the colour display and the icons in the EasyReader toolbars and reader panels. In the reading pane, you will still have full control of the text settings, including background and highlight colours.

Exclusive New Premium Study Features

Following the accessibility improvements introduced in version 12 - and in addition to the new colour highlights feature introduced in this release - EasyReader version 12.02 introduces exclusive new premium features that make study and revision more organised and productive.

New: Easier Access to Shared Documents in OneDrive

Exclusively available to EasyReader Education and EasyReader Personal plan holders, EasyReader 12.02 makes document sharing faster, to help improve your productivity.

It’s now easier to access shared documents, files and folders in the OneDrive Library in EasyReader app. You’ll experience quicker access to learning material shared by teachers and classmates in OneDrive - which you can then read with your preferred accessibility settings in EasyReader app.

Please note that an EasyReader Education or EasyReader Personal plan is required to access new premium study features. Find out more at yourdolphin.com/EasyReader-Premium

For better access to the full Project Gutenberg catalogue, the EasyReader version 12.02 update includes a new implementation which provides more data on the reading material available, and improves access to the full library.

Improved: Bookshare Periodicals

Bookshare Periodicals introduced updates and improvements, and you will experience better accessibility to this library with EasyReader 12.02. Newspapers are now listed alphabetically in the Bookshare Periodicals library, and the process of subscribing to newspapers is easier and more accessible.

FIX: Improved download process at Blind Low Vision, NZ

We have reduced the number of steps to borrow and download a book in this library to improve access for readers in New Zealand.
