Dolphin is pleased to announce the release of SuperNova Magnifier and Screen Reader version 25.03.

This latest update focuses on improving accessibility, performance and user experience, helping ensure better experience for SuperNova users at work, in education and at home.

Version 25.03 includes a range of enhancements, highlights include:

  • New MathML support for reading maths content on the web
  • Faster, more responsive speech that keeps up with typing
  • Improved performance with Bluetooth audio devices

Plus, extended Truefonts magnification support and a range of additional fixes and improvements to make the accessibility experience across everyday Windows apps more reliable for SuperNova and Dolphin ScreenReader users.

Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA)

Keep your SuperNova assistive tech up to date with the latest features, fixes and improvements with a Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA).

An SMA ensures SuperNova stays compatible with apps including Microsoft Office, Edge, Teams, WhatsApp and Copilot as they update.
It also gives you full access to the Dolphin Support Team by phone, remote support or a scheduled callback.

If you rely on SuperNova every day, an SMA gives you the most stable, reliable and secure experience.
You can renew annually or purchase up to five years in advance, to save money compared to buying individual upgrades.

New and improved features in SuperNova 25.03

Maths equations made accessible

You can now read mathematical formulas and equations on HTML pages using the Dolphin Cursor. This feature uses MathML (Mathematical Markup Language) to present mathematical content in a structured and meaningful way, making it easier to navigate with speech and explore concepts across different subjects.

Faster, more responsive character echo

Speech is now faster and more responsive, with the Vocalizer and Orpheus synthesisers keeping up effortlessly as you type. As the speech keeps pace with input, users stay focused and writing, notetaking and communications are more accurate.

Uninterrupted audio with Bluetooth headsets

SuperNova now includes a new “Keep audio alive” option, designed to deliver a more reliable and consistent experience when using Bluetooth headsets. This setting maintains stable audio performance and reduces audio lags, which may have been experienced after the Bluetooth device wakes from sleep mode.

Truefont magnification for 32-Bit Microsoft Office

Truefonts support has been extended to the current 32-Bit releases of Microsoft Office, plus those editions currently available on the Preview Channel.
This enables users running 32-Bit Microsoft Office to have the same high quality, sharp magnification experienced by users of 64-Bit Microsoft Office.

Additional Fixes and Improvements

  • FIX: Google Chrome – Magnification now tracks the address bar cursor correctly in all situations e.g. when using Magnifier profile.
  • FIX: Microsoft Word – Use Item Finder (CAPS LOCK + TAB) in Word documents that contain Comments with no effect on the responsiveness of the speech.
  • FIX: System Settings – Performance and reliability are improved when reviewing Windows Settings.
  • FIX: EasyReader App – Improvements to your accessible reading experience when using the latest EasyReader for Windows with SuperNova.
  • FIX: Magnification - Improvements to image magnification to remove image 'ghosting' on 4K monitors.
  • FIX: Speech - Focus is now correctly tracked and announced when a maximised window is open in the background.
  • FIX: Polish Language – magnification size list now displays correct information.
  • FIX: Shortcut key re-assignment – SuperNova now reliably updates its launch shortcut key when changed through the SuperNova Control Panel.
  • FIX: SuperNova Control Panel – You can now change the speed value using the Voice Preferences Speed spin control.
  • FIX: Vocalizer Expressive exceptions dictionaries – The Vocalizer Expressive UK and US English dictionaries have now been updated. This ensures the reading of the letter ‘P’ is spoken correctly when it’s followed by a number, rather than reporting it as ‘page’. For example, “P6” is now read as such, instead of being read as “page 6”.
