GuideConnect 2025.07 is now available. This release introduces product enhancements and a range of fixes, designed to make everyday tasks more accessible, more intuitive and easier for GuideConnect users to operate and enjoy.
Books & News: Improvements for More Accessible Reading
Improvements and fixes in GuideConnect Books & News make it easier to browse, download and read books, newspapers and magazines from your favourite accessible libraries.
Improved: Calibre Audio Library
Readers with memberships to Calibre Audio Library in the UK can now log in to their accounts and read audiobooks using GuideConnect, following an update to the Calibre library.
Fix: Project Gutenberg Library
Cover images for the books you’re browsing now displayed when you are searching books in the Project Gutenberg library. This makes it easier to recognise the books on your bookshelf.
New: Bookshare Periodicals
Members of the Bookshare Library in the USA can now read periodicals, newspapers and magazines in GuideConnect through the new Bookshare Periodicals library.
Windows 11 Updates
GuideConnect updates now work in line with Windows 11 permissions, to show the available WiFi access points. This enables you to set up your WiFi in GuideConnect, to access your internet browser and other online services, including email, radio and news feeds.
Other Fixes and Improvements
Fix: Scanning in Czech language OCR now recognises and correctly reads all letters correctly.
Fix: Swedish TTS voice now pronounces the letter G correctly.
Fix: Gmail authentication now uses the GuideConnect Browser, which makes it much easier to log in to your Gmail account, rather than going through an external browser.
FIX: Improvements prevent noise distortion affecting the accuracy of dictated documents. This ensures the letters, emails and documents you dictate through a Dolphin Remote Control or headset accurately reflect the spoken words you use.
