EasyReader Help & Instructions
Change audio settings
You can change audio parameters to make it easier to listen to a book. You make these changes through the "Audio settings" option. The "Audio settings" option also includes a "Reset to Defaults" button to enable you to reverse any unwanted changes you have made.
To make changes:
- From the Reader screen, select the "Audio settings" button.
- Do any of the following:
- Adjust the voice speed using the "rate" slider.
- Select the "Voice" drop down and choose an alternative voice. Voices will be restricted to those present on your device.
- Select the "Voice settings" button to adjust voice parameters. Use the sliders to adjust the voice pitch, volume and pause length.
- Select the "Maths Settings" button to change how maths expressions are managed. You can change options such as language, verbosity, and speech style. To learn more, see Support for mathematics.
- Select the "Add Voices" button to add additional high-quality voices. You require an EasyReader Premium Subscription to add additional voices.
- Choose, create, edit, or remove a Pronunciation list using the related controls. A Pronunciation list enables you to change the pronunciation of words by your synthetic voice. If you want to add a new entry into the Pronunciation list, select the "Edit pronunciation list" button. You can quickly add specific words to your Pronunciation list by selecting the mispronounced word in the text and then select the "add correction" button from the context menu. With an EasyReader Premium Subscription, your Pronunciation lists are synchronised across your devices.
- Select "Play on navigation" to automate the playback of a book. When selected, playback will automatically start when you open your book and when you navigate to headings, pages, and bookmarks.
- Select "Play sound on bookmark" to add an audible chime to indicate the presence of a bookmark during playback.
- Select "Read skippable content" to include content such as page numbers, footnotes, sidebars, and notes during playback. The book's producer must correctly tag the Text for it to be readable as skippable content during playback.
- Go back to your book.
